SEO Search Engine Optimisation

SEO for pharmacies

My names Guy Willett and I founded Ready Steady Go SEO four years ago to specifically help SMEs in the UK to deal with the challenges of getting your company to rank well in search engine (Google, Bing, DudckDickGo etc) results. Over this time, I worked with a wide range of sectors that has included the heath related sectors including physiotherapists, oral hygiene trainers and of course pharmacies.

In my experience many pharmacies have neither the time nor inclination to undertake improving their rankings on search engines through using SEO (search engine optimisation) practices. This can be a missed opportunity since SEO is more than improving your traffic, but when done well can also mean the building of your brand in your prospect’s eyes. This means developing a strong GoogleMyBusiness profile along with consistent social media platforms (if you have them), the same message and info also reflected through important directory listings and finally the brand values shining through on your website too.

What makes Ready Steady Go SEO different?

The key difference with what I offer pharmacies is that I don’t work on a retainer or contract basis. In fact, for most single site pharmacies it is very much a case that a single dedicated package developed around their needs can address most of their ranking requirements. Generally, they only want to rank well in their immediate area or surrounding conurbations so if this is you then read on. However, if you’re a multiple site chain pharmacy I can help you too but would need to consult with you since a singl-site tailored package will not be an advisable route so feel free to call me on 07985 676 506.

Pharmacy SEO Case Study

I recently helped a West Midlands based single site pharmacy rise to rank number one for a locality related search phrase that had 70 visitors per month. The further benefit to this is that it also helped lift them to position 4 on the first page for a neighbouring village that had 110 visitors per month as well!

In addition, the timescale to do this was in a blistering 2 and half weeks. So, when other SEO experts says ‘SEO takes ages’ then it’s worth taking this with a pinch of salt!

Pharmacy SEO Frequently Asked Questions

Can you guarantee your results?

No and you should be careful if any SEO claims this. The reasons for this are three-fold.

  • The Google algorithm is constantly changing so this can affect your ranking results continually.
  • You can’t legislate for what your competitors may do in terms of undertaking SEO
  • Changes made to your website that may be made by yourself or other parties may affect things adversely too

Is SEO still relevant in 2020?

Self-interest notwithstanding, SEO is in fact more important than ever. However, SEO has moved on. Having a fixation about worrying about just your organic rankings in Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo etc could be missing a wealth of new opportunities. Google is curating more and more digital assets like Answer Snippets that can take 'position zero' above the organic rankings. For more local businesses there is, of course, the map packs that can be important to rank on. Finally, with the rise of digital assistants like Siri, Cortana and Google Assistant and their prevalence now in-home assistants like Alexa and Google Home voice search is now an expanding ranking opportunity to consider.
